Amber is fortunate to be one of the most sought after vocal coaches in the Bay Area. Amber has been coaching vocalists for over 10 years, her approach to developing the voice offers a new and healthful perspective. Amber’s mission is to empower her clients with tools that will allow them to take their vocal skills to an entirely new level. Through her own bout with an illness, acid reflux, Amber’s loss of vocal range set her on her life path. Through determination and labor of love, Amber was not only able to rehabilitate herself, but she takes this knowledge into her vocal training, offering singers a compassionate and judgement free environment to work through vocal issues and discover their potential. Amber has trained 6 vocalists currently enrolled at Berklee College of Music, 2 in Carnegie Mellon’s School of Acting/Music and 2 at Nashville’s Belmont University.

A California native, and transplant from Los Angeles, Amber grew up in the thriving SF Bay Area music scene of the early 70’s. Her mother’s experiences as a vocalist left a deep imprint, as she spent playtime backstage during concerts of legends in music history. As a shy 11 yr old, Amber was introduced to the stage through dance, where she found herself at home for the first time. By the age of 15, Amber cut her teeth singing backgrounds in her uncle’s reggae band, Smoke, Inc.  She went on to pay her dues playing the Bay Area club scene in search of the elusive record deal with various original projects, most notably Psychefunkapus and Burning TV. As a vocalist, Amber has performed in the capacity of both lead and background with many of the Bay Area’s own music royalty. Amber has been a member of several all-star bands performing and singing backgrounds with the following:

    Jonathan Cain

Keyboard player, songwriter & vocalist, JOURNEY
“As keyboard player in the band, Journey for thirty years, as well as being a producer I have had the pleasure of writing, performing and recording with unique voices like Steve Perry, John Waite, and Michael Bolton and most recently- Arnel Pineda. At the heart of all of these gifted singers were the principles of rhythmic phrasing, effortless tone and capturing the right character for each song that was being performed. -as a result I have had the pleasure of working with some of the best in the business.
Amber Morris is an innovative voice teacher who teaches with the concepts of resonance and placement and applying these principles to performance. For the past five years she has worked with my nineteen year old – daughter, Madison and I have been delighted in the improvements Amber has brought about with Madison in the recording studio and on stage.

Amber has also worked with our band’s new lead singer, Arnel Pineda with placement and diction and helped him deal with the rigors of extensive touring. The regimen and maintenance of a touring vocalist must be disciplined and precise and using Skype Amber was able to get his voice on track.

Last year I started lessons with Amber and had the best singing year on the road that I can remember. She has helped me open up and gotten my tone much more resonant than it was when I started. I have personally recommended her to various singers and any one who does public speaking.”
